I Made Pages!

4 May

Well, I did AMAZING yesterday!  I made SIX pocket pages!  So amazing since I haven’t made a single page since October 2012.  Can’t believe it has been that long since I finished a page, but I HAVE been rather busy-having a baby, moving, etc.-I guess that might have contributed!  🙂

Anyway, I found these amazing free printables from Simple Stories for National Scrapbook Day, and they so inspired me, I used all but two of them.  🙂

Here are the first two pages I made:

PG1

PG2

These pages are from events last June-what a great summer we had-I really wanted to document it, and these printables were perfect for summer pages.  I will share two more pages tomorrow!  🙂

Happy National Scrapbook Day!

SO excited about today-my parents have the kids, and I am determined to make stuff!  🙂

I have several challenges lined up to work on, and we will see what I get done!

Last night I got some time and made these cards:

Supplies: Gelatos; Mists (Studio Calico); Stamps: Paper Smooches (mom, You’re Special), Technique Tuesday (Everyday), Studio Calico (everything else.)

I had lots of fun playing with gelatos on these-even figured out how to paint with them (see the bottom right card.)  On a couple (You’re Special and Everyday) I did use mist to paint in the flowers, but everything else was gelatos, and how fun it was just to PLAY!

I have been watching a lot of technique videos lately, and here are some that I tried: I created backgrounds on the top card and the left ones by spreading gelato on my craft mat , spritzing with water, and then swiping the card through.  For the Find Joy card, I did the same technique, but picked up the gelato/water mixture from the craft mat with a paint brush, and painted with it.  For the Shine On card I applied the gelatos straight to the card and then wiped with a baby wipe to blend.

Obviously, I made one into a card, and the rest became lunch tags for The Girlio.  🙂

Hope to have more projects to share next week of projects I complete.  We’ll see how I do!

Workspace Challenge Part 4

2 May

On Tuesday, I posted an update on my craft room, and gave you a preview of the next part on my list-my table.

A little background-before the days of being married and having kids, I was truly spoiled to have a very large craft room.  My favorite part was a large kitchen table with two leaves in it-right in the middle of the room.  While I can’t do that in this room, I did find a smaller table in storage that I was able to put to the side in my new room.  I love the flexibility of leaving a project out that I am working on, but not take up space on my actual crafting desk.  This was also to solve a problem with Project Life.  One of the reasons I haven’t been working on Project Life is that I didn’t have the space to spread out and work on it with all my supplies nearby-and now I will!

Only one thing stood in my way:

I feel like I should say at this point “Dun, dun, DUN…” like the sloth from The Croods.  If you’ve seen that movie, you know what I’m talking about.  🙂  Talk about completely overwhelming.

I should point out that this is not all my stuff.  My kids’ papers, party supplies, decorations, etc.-mixed in with a healthy dose of my own crafty stuff.  Regardless though, it all had to go if I was going to have this table cleaned off for National Scrapbooking Day tomorrow, so I set to work.

And here is what it looks like now:

OH YEAH.  I feel like I should say God Bless America like that wooden box on my table.  🙂

OK, that took forever, but it was worth it!  And no, I did not just pile it all under the table (there is a lot under there, but that is a project for another day!)  I actually found spots to put that stuff!  I have to say, I am doing a little dance for having gotten so much accomplished.  Even though I didn’t get the room done, I have plenty of workable space for now, and that is great!

I also took the time to reorganize my 6×6 paper pads and Project Life cards (you can see them on the table.)  I will cover that, and a new way I am storing my washi tape, in my next workspace post.

For now, I am off to craft!  🙂

Pinterest Thursday-More Girl Scout Projects

Here are some more pins I have used at Girl Scouts!

When we talked about plants we made something similar to this:

And when we talked about water, we did some experiments like this:

And talked about this:

We have actually done more at Girl Scouts, but I think this is all I can remember for now!
