Guest Designer FLOA-Two More Cards

30 Jun

OK, these really ARE my last two cards from the For the Luv of Art May kit-I have pretty much run out of kit, and tomorrow starts my July posts!  🙂

Hi card

For this card, the chevrons were cut with my Silhouette, and I wanted to use up some of the flowers and ribbons I hadn’t in previous projects.  I had already used so many flowers, I was surprise I had so many left-this kit really has a LOT of flowers!!!

For this card, I used my Tim Holtz Picket Fence marker to cover over the designs.  I also added some Tim Holtz tissue tape.  Everything else on both cards (except for the card bases) comes from the kit.

So, that’s it for the May kit!  All in all, I made fifteen projects with this kit-wow!

Thanks Sherrie for giving me the chance to play with this beautiful kit, and starting tomorrow, I will begin posting some of the projects I made for July.

Have a great day!

Guest Designer FLOA-Mini Cards

29 Jun

I know I should be working on my July Guest Designer kit, but can’t help myself and am still making cards with the For the Luv of Art May kit.  Truly an addictive kit.  Do pick one up if you haven’t already-so much fun.  🙂

About a week ago I saw a post by Kristina Werner where she used strips of paper to create her cards.  As this is about all I have left of this kit, I decided to give this idea a try.

So, here are two mini cards for today:

Everything for both cards comes from the kit.  On the first card, I used leftover letters from my altered project last week to spell out True Love, and on the second card, I used a heart punch and some dimensional adhesive to get the raised look.

These cards were fun, and super easy to make.

Hope you enjoyed, and have a great day!

Well, I had several posts planned for this week (yesterday’s post was pre-scheduled), but they kind of went to the wayside because I couldn’t tear myself away from this:

This is the western side of my beautiful city this week.

All my thoughts and prayers go out to those that lost their homes, and a HUGE thank you to our wonderful firefighters as they work to get this fire under control.

I am going to be working on playing a little catch-up over the next few days sharing the last of my Guest Designer projects from the For the Luv of Art May kit, so look for those, and keep our area in your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks.

Pinterest Thursday and a FLOA Guest Designer Post

21 Jun

Thursdays really are my day to post fun things from Pinterest.

Today, I thought I would do a little combo post and show you how I came up with my next project using the May For the Luv of Art kit.

I really wanted to use the B side of this Button Up paper:

All around the outside edge of the paper it uses the word “dream.”  So, I decided to look on Pinterest for a quote including dreams, and this is what I found:

I used my Silhouette to cut this quote out of the One Up paper, and backed some of the words with leftover scraps to mimic the feel of the Pinterest quote. I adhered the cut out piece, along with crystals and flowers to the Button Up paper, and ended up with my favorite project from this kit.

Something you may not be able to see from the picture is that I took all of the leftover crystals I had not used from the sheet, and cut them apart one by one and adhered them to all the flowers on the outside edge.  Those crystals really went a LONG way, as you can see if you go back and look at all the projects I have posted so far, and I really was determined to use them all!  🙂

Anyway, I really love how it turned out-so pretty!

Hope you enjoyed, and have a great day!
