Pinterest Thursday-The States

24 Sep

One of our favorite ways to learn more about the states is to play Scrambled States of America-can’t recommend this game enough!

In fact, we love it so much, we also have the movies(there are some adorable additional movies about loving others, taking care of teeth, etc. on this disc):

All of these are available on Amazon, and are super fun and educational!

Pinterest Thursday-A Lesson In Estimation

17 Sep

For our first science project of the year, I chose to focus on estimating.  We spent two weeks on this topic.
First, we watched an episode of Sid the Science kid about estimating.
Then, The Girlio had to estimate how many pennies we had in a jar.
We also did a couple of experiments:

These were great projects-very fun and easy to do.  The only change I made was to change 100 cm to 18 inches so that we could use a long ruler.
Finally, The Girlio got to play some estimation games I found on pbskids.org.

Fun stuff!  🙂
