Just a quick post to share that I had a card up on the Create blog today! You can see it here. 🙂
An Easter Card
28 MarI am playing along with the Paper Smooches challenge this week (and also submitting this card to the Create blog challenge):
For this challenge, I chose to make an Easter card with Spring Fling and Sentiment Sampler.
Supplies: Patterned Paper: Echo Park; Stamps: Paper Smooches; Twine: Doodlebug; Gems: Kaiser, Basic Grey; Ink: Stazon; Punch: Stampin Up!
To make the sentiment, I cut apart a Happy Birthday stamp from the sentiment set (to get the word happy), and cut apart an easter stamp from Spring Fling (to get the word Easter) and paired them together. I think I will probably be making a few more like this one-really like how it turned out!
Monday Cards-A Baby Card
26 MarI have been playing with stamps a lot more lately, which has been kind of fun!
Here is a baby card I just finished:
Supplies: Paper: Echo Park; Stamps: Lawn Fawn (sentiment, oven), Technique Tuesday (polka dots); Inks: Stazon (black), Versamark (watermark), Tim Holtz Distress (Worn Lipstick), Studio Calico Mr. Hueys (Clay, Piglet, Warm Calico); Other: Pink Cardstock, White Embossing Powder
For this card, I first stamped and embossed the oven and muffin image. Then, I used Mr. Hueys and a paintbrush to color them in. I applied extra layers of the Clay color to make the outside of the oven look a little darker than the inside. I truly love painting in images with Mr. Hueys-it is so easy, and looks cute!
Then, I stamped and embossed a strip of pink cardstock from my scrap bin with polka dots. The sentiment was stamped on a strip of patterned paper, and then I used pop dots and adhered the strip to another strip with the ends cut into flag shapes.
After the card was assembled, I decided that the top of the card looked a little bare (even with the distress ink brushed on), so I stamped more polka dots in Versamark-just to add a little extra. Then, I brushed on a little more ink, and that helped.
This is SUCH a cute image and sentiment-I am sure I will be using it a lot in the future!
Have a great day!
Two Challenges And A Birthday
25 MarHere is a birthday card (belated) that I made for my dear friend Kelly. I chose to play along with a couple of challenges as well-the Create blog’s challenge to use hexagons, and The Paper Variety’s sketch challenge.
The sketch looked like this:
Although this sketch was intended to be a layout, I had fun turning it into a card. There was a dual challenge this week to add numbered journaling, but as I was making a card, I decided to loosely follow that challenge by saying two phrases on my card-Birthday Wishes, and Hello. I did not add the numbering, so really I am just submitting it for the sketch challenge part. 🙂
Supplies: Paper and Letter Stickers: Lily Bee; Ampersand Sticker: Bo Bunny; Tag: Bananafish Studios; Butterfly: Studio Calico; Tape: K&Company; Silhouette file: Lori Whitlock; Other: Cardstock
I completely LOVE this Lily Bee line-it was my very favorite thing from CHA, so I am happy to finally have it in my hands! I am also loving my new Bananafish goodies-they are hard to get because they are so popular, so I feel fortunate to have been able to collect a small stash. 🙂
Anyway, that’s my card-have a great day!
Kid’s Craft #43-Rainbows
23 MarIn honor of St. Patrick’s Day, we made some rainbows last week. I got the idea from Make and Takes (see original post here.)
Basically, you watercolor on paper plates, and then cut them in half. Very cute and fun project!

Some of the finished ones:
The Girlio gave some to her friends, and we also attached them to the St. Patrick’s Day cookies we made and delivered to the neighbors last Saturday.
