Kids’ Craft #87-Animal Crafts

28 Jun

We went to the library a while back to a fun event where the kids could pet a bunch of different animals-SO fun!  They also had several crafts for the kids to do.  I love our library-they do the best stuff for kids!  Anyway, here are some pictures of the crafts they did:

Paper Plate Snakes-you pull up the string and they are a 3D craft.  What was so funny is that I had been looking at a very similar craft on Pinterest right before we went to the library!  You can see that here if you are interested.

Coloring Sheets-I am thinking The Girlio didn’t finish hers?  Looks like she spent more time on the snakes above.  🙂

Here’s a picture of them crafting away:

And, a couple of animal pictures too (sorry for the bad pictures-think I was trying to do too much at once!):

And, fun crafting and petting was had by all!  🙂

Pinterest Thursday-And A Wonderful Surprise!

27 Jun

So, I won the mother-load of all kids’ crafting supplies from Consumer Crafts last week.  It arrived this week, and within 24 hrs., The Girlio had created four bracelets and four necklaces (I’ll have to get pics of those and post them too.)  🙂

I was so super excited to win this because there were several items I had been wanting to purchase-including a new painting apron-and now I have a bunch of new stuff for the kids to play with!

Here’s a picture of the loot:

Ridiculously awesome, isn’t it?  This isn’t even everything, as while I was taking this picture, they were doing this:

And making these:

The Girlio’s (using watercolors included in the package):

The Boy’s (using a paint pouncer from the package):

The tree printable came from Pinterest and can be found here.  The Seal page was a leftover worksheet from The Girlio’s Kindergarten class.

Thank you SO MUCH Consumer Crafts-we are having a blast with our new craft stuff!!!!  🙂

Book Review-A Place To Belong

25 Jun

images

A Place To Belong by Lauraine Snelling is book three in the Wild West Wind series.  I have previously reviewed book two (find that review here.)  The third book picks up right where the second left off.  Cassie Lockwood is still trying to find her place at the ranch, and wondering if she should accept Lucas’ proposal.  Is he right?  Will she grow to love him in time?  Or, should she leave the ranch all together and join a Wild West show again?

I enjoyed this book as much as the previous two books (I went back and read the first one because I enjoyed the second.)  I will say that in order to make the book longer, it does seem that the author goes into extreme detail about daily ranching life.  Having said this though, she is a good author, and kept everything interesting.  It was definitely lighter on plot, but was still a good read.  I would recommend this book as it is well-written, and provides a good conclusion to the series.  If you liked the previous books, you will like this one too.

As always, a thank you to Bethany House for providing me with a free copy of this book for my unbiased review.

Card Monday

24 Jun

I actually made this journaling card forever ago, but didn’t care for it, and left it on my desk.  When I was cleaning up one day, I noticed it, realized it isn’t all that bad, and made it into a card.  🙂
