Card Monday-Easter Cards

24 Apr

My goodness-time has really been getting away from me!  Seems that always happens this time of year as we finish up homeschooling, public school, and I order and prep materials for the next homeschool year.  Whew!
Anyway, I am just now sharing the fun Easter cards I made for the kiddos.  I decided to make some fun mini shaker cards, and my goodness did it take me FOREVER to figure out how to make them work!

I used the Lawn Fawn How You Bean stamp set and add-on, and definitely learned through trial and error on these.
First, the edges are so thin, foam tape really was just too finicky for me.  Then, I remembered (after fiddling for quite a while) that I purchased some extra thick foam for just this purpose!
After die cutting the frame out of foam, I found that worked SO much better, but unfortunately my redline tape was delayed for almost a month by Amazon, so I was forced to use my regular adhesive, which just wasn’t the best choice as pieces tended to stick in between the layers.
Also, I die cut some of the jelly beans out of paper, and they didn’t shake well AT ALL.  I only put them in the pink one, and skipped them for the rest.  The sequins worked much better.
After the cards were finally all assembled, I stamped a sentiment on the inside of each mini card using a combination of How You Bean and Happy, Happy, Happy.
I ended up making everything work, but one can only hope I will have an easier time of it if I attempt something similar in the future!
Supplies: Dies and Stamps: Lawn Fawn; Markers: Sharpies, Spectrum Noir; Sequins: Darice, Studio Calico; Page Protector: Project Life by Becky Higgins; Other: Wink of Stella

Lawn Fawn Part 4

11 Apr

Sheepish grin.  Yes, another set of Lawn Fawn has arrived at my house.  🙂
This will be the last for a while, but I am very excited to play with the new goodies-especially that jelly bean jar die-going to make some cute Easter cards with that one!
