Card Monday

21 May

Today’s card is a birthday card!

Supplies: Stamp: Simon Says Stamp; Die: My Favorite Things; Glitter Pen: Wink of Stella; Markers: Zig Real Color Brush Markers; MISTI; Other: Blue and Black Card Stock
First, I stamped the background stamp using my MISTI.  I colored it in using my brush markers.  I chose to use the pens simply as markers without adding any water as I was using some pretty cheap card stock from Michaels and didn’t want it to warp.  Plus, I know I need to use better paper if I really want those markers to blend.
I die cut my sentiment from black as well as blue card stock, adhered them slightly offset, and mounted the panel on to more of the blue card stock, and a card base.
I added lots of Wink of Stella to the sentiment as well as the parts of the card colored in the darker blue, so it really sparkles in person.
This card could easily be used as an Easter card, or to celebrate any other occasion-not just a birthday.
It took quite a while to color, but I love how it turned out!

A Wedding Present

15 May

My sister-in-law is getting married soon, so I thought I would make a few things for her.
First, I created a wedding album for her.  I used a Project Life album and binder, as well as some Simple Stories sheet protectors.  I inserted several of the cards into the album:

I also put extra cards in a baggie in case she wanted to switch the cards around.  And, I added another baggie with cards that had plenty of space for journaling-so that she could put them out on a table at the ceremony, or on the tables at the reception for people to fill out.  These cards can be added to the back of the album where I left several empty page protectors.

Finally, I created some thank you cards.  I bought some blank purple card bases and envelopes from Michaels, and decorated them with Altenew stamps:

I kept them pretty simple so that if she didn’t want to use them for wedding thank yous, they could really be used for anything.  🙂
So, that’s it!  I really like how everything turned out-simple, but pretty.  🙂

Card Monday-A Mother’s Day Card

14 May

I made this card for my mother-in-law with a layering stamp set from Altenew.
I still need to work on my layering skills, but I do like how it turned out:
