Pinterest Thursday-Free Files!

29 Sep

Pink Cat Studio has come out with something new-editable mystery pictures.  And best of all, she has two free ones you can download.  I love these because they are so customizable.  So far, I have used the dog one for practicing Spanish colors, but I have lots more ideas to plug in-sight words that need practicing, math problems in Spanish-so many possibilities.  Fun stuff!
This easy to use editable mystery picture will allow you to quickly create engaging worksheets to review any questions in any language. You can make a worksheet in about 2 minutes!! Make math questions, practice sight words or anything you can think of that will fit into the space provided. The worksheets are perfect for math centers, literacy centers, early finishers, substitutes or homework.Note: An internet connection is required.:

OK, so that’s it!  It was a lot of work to make these up front, but now I can use a different one every day if I want (at least for quite a while anyway!)  And, I cut them up while watching a movie, so it wasn’t too bad.  🙂

Homeschool Curriculum Pt. 8-Typing and Coding

24 Sep

In continuing with my Homeschool Curriculum series, today I thought I would share what we do for Typing and Coding.

For Typing, we did Dance Mat Typing last year, and after completing their lessons, we switched over to The Typing Club for this year.  Both are free programs, and give The Girlio plenty of practice.

For Coding, we are continuing on at code.org.  Last year, we finished Course 2, and this year we are going to work our way through Course 3.  This is another free program, and it is really cool-great for learning critical thinking skills, and of course, coding!
