Card Monday-I Love You

19 Jan

Today I am sharing my project for the CutCardStock.com IG Influencer Team.

You can follow me on Instagram here.

Today I am taking a break from penguin cards (don’t worry, there are more coming soon!)

It’s almost Valentine’s Day, so I thought I would break out some Mickey and Minnie die cuts and make a card.

I recently received a product from CutCardStock.com that I have been wanting to try for quite a while.

Glitter tape.

I got the silver, white, and red.

This stuff is so fun!

I started by covering a panel with the red and white tapes.

I die cut a heart out of one of the panels, backed it with glitter card stock, and added Mickey and Minnie.

I die cut the little hearts out of glitter tape as well.

The photo does not due this card justice with how sparkly this turned out, so pop over to my Instagram feed if you want to see a short video of all of glittery goodness!

Here is my card:

Supplies: Stamp: Elizabeth Craft Designs; Dies: Spellbinders (small hearts, Mickey and Minnie), Elle’s Studio (large stitched heart); Poppy Studio (bow, present)

I used the following from CutCardStock.com:  Glitter Tape, Pop Tone Black LicoriceDCS Red PepperDCS PuttyDCS Yellow JacketDCS Black Glitter, Cougar White 130 lb. (for my base), and Tombow Mono Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.

I ended up cutting three panels from glitter tape, plus I have the heart I cut from this panel, so I will definitely be making more cards!

One tip with the tape-if you create panels, you can cut the excess from the edges of the panel and save those scraps by re-applying them to the backer the tape comes on.

Then it’s easy to die cut smaller pieces (like the small hearts in my project above) from your leftovers and not waste them.

You can also apply your scraps to a piece of card stock and create a new project.

Here is a bookmark I made using some of my scraps:

Well, that’s it for today.

Have a great one!

Kid Craft Friday-Cat Hideouts

16 Jan

For today’s project, I am sharing another of my youngest kiddo’s drawings from a free online art class he took last week.

The whole week was cat-themed, which was right up his alley!

I love all the shading he does-it looks so cool.

That’s it for today.

Have a great one!

Pinterest Thursday-Potato Chips

15 Jan

My youngest has been making more new recipes than I have lately. 🙂

He recently made a giant batch of homemade potato chips.

pin and video found here

These were pretty good!

They were a lot of work for him to make, and I don’t know if they would have been crispy the next day, but we didn’t test that as there definitely weren’t any leftovers. 🙂

Crafty Haul-Poppy Stamps

13 Jan

I have already posted three cards, but I thought I would share all of the crafty goodies I picked up from the latest Poppy Stamps release called Penguin Party. I was fortunate to be gifted $60, and when I saw this release at my local scrapbook store, I knew it would be a perfect addition to my stash.

Here is what I got:

Fancy Party Penguin

Birthday Penguin

Festive Balloons

Frilly Gifts

Joyride Car

I am very excited about not only the cuteness factor, but the versatility of this release.

I have been needing some smaller gift dies in different shapes, I love the balloons, and I have so many characters that will fit in that car!

I know for sure some of my Spellbinders Dancin’ dies work, as well as the Avery Elle Peek A Boo animal sets. And, of course, these adorable penguins.

Look for many cards using these supplies in the coming weeks!

ProCraftinator’s Club Hop January 2026

12 Jan

Today I am sharing my cards for the ProCRAFTinator’s blog hop on Instagram.

You can follow me on Instagram here.

The ProCRAFTinator’s Club hop is for those of us who hold Ph.D’s in procrastinating! This monthly card hop is hosted by @createwithkas and @touchofmagik and we’re (finally) creating with any kit, class, camp and more that we signed up for.

We’ve dusted off those monthly subscription kits, online classes, and camp boxes that we didn’t finish! On the 2nd Monday of each month, we’ll share our creations, and you can follow along with us at #theprocraftinatorsclub!

I definitely have enough credits (a.k.a. kits) for a Ph.D. and decided to join in the fun again this year.

I can’t believe I have already been participating for a year, but I have been very happy with the number of older kits I have been able to tackle.

It seems like I have a never-ending supply, but I do have a couple that are almost finished off now.

I have been primarily using old Studio Calico kits and combining those supplies with new things from my stash.

For today’s cards, I used two newer-to-me dies and a new stamp set along with the Studio Calico October 2014 Underground Project Life kit (of which I have two.)

October 2014 Underground:

I used one 3×4 card, four 4×6 cards, and several of the rose gold rubons (hello, hearts, dashed line, numbers.)

Here are my cards:

For the penguin card, I separated all of the numbers and applied them individually behind the penguin and added a dashed line rubon below the penguin. I was surprised these rubons still worked!

The polka dot card had a circle in the middle that said harvest, but the yeti covered that up perfectly. The tri-colored card underneath had a list on it that said work, play, and rest. I was pretty happy that I was able to use these cards-even though they were originally intended for fall.

For this card, I stamped my images in Distress ink on a 4×6 card and used a water brush to pull out the color a little. I like the technique, but I think next time I would then restamp the image over the top using my MISTI so that I could get the hint of color but still have a crisp outline to the image. I also had to be really careful as the journaling card didn’t take water very well.

Supplies: Journaling Cards, Rubons: Studio Calico; Stamps: Studio Calico (thanks), Avery Elle (happy birthday), Hello Bluebird (animals), Mama Elephant (you’re awesome); Dies: Poppy Stamps (penguin), Spellbinders (yeti); Ink: Distress Gathered Twigs, Memento Tuxedo Black; Other: Water Brush

I used the following from CutCardStock.com: Pop Tone Black Licorice,  Pop Tone Grape Jelly, DCS Patriot Blue, Lessebo Sunset OrangeLessebo CherryLessebo Arctic BlueLessebo Misty Blue, Stardream Metallic SilverCougar White 100 lb., and Tombow Mono Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.

That’s it for today-have a great one, and feel free to come join us on the hop!

I am entering these into the following challenge:
