Kid Craft Friday-Ted Harrison

26 Dec

For today’s project, I am sharing The Little Guy’s art from a recent library class.

They learned about the Canadian painter Ted Harrison and created their own abstract landscape paintings.

This turned out pretty cool!

I love the library art classes-we always learn so much.

That’s it for today.

Have a great one!

Christmas Gift Baskets

24 Dec

Today I thought it would be fun to share what I put in the Christmas gift baskets I made for the neighbors this year.

I had lots of help from The Little Guy assembling the gifts, which was awesome.

I was going for a cozy theme this year.

We made three gift baskets, and here is what was included:

Blanket

Oatmeal Cookie Mix in a Jar

I found a great recipe for making oatmeal cookie mix in a jar, and so we included that too. We substituted chocolate chips for the white chocolate and cranberries.

This recipe comes with a downloadable recipe card, but because I changed the recipe, I just made my own recipe cards to attach.

Candy Boxes

I found these pyramid boxes on Amazon Haul. After discounts, they ended up being around .70 for a pack of 24. The package included the ribbons and Merry Christmas tags too. What a deal, and they are SO cute!

We filled them with paper shreds, Hershey’s kisses, and peppermints. We included two pyramids in each gift basket.

Card Kits

I previously posted about the card kits I made for the neighbors’ kids/grandkids. Here is the link if you would like to read more about how I made those.

Ornaments

I also included a handmade Christmas ornament. If you would like to learn more about how I made these, click on this link.

Paper Shreds

The Little Guy assembled the baskets. We used some really cute plastic baskets from The Dollar Tree.

He filled the bottom of each basket with tissue paper, then added the items, and filled in with paper shreds.

I didn’t actually have any paper shreds on hand, but found this great video on YouTube, and made my own.

And finally, I included a Christmas card for each family.

I did also make four baskets for The Hubby to take to work. They included the cookie mix, the candy boxes, organic popcorn seeds with paper lunch sacks (so that you can make popcorn in the microwave-see pin here for directions), and a Christmas card.

I was really happy with how these turned out, and hopefully everyone enjoyed them!

That’s it for today.

Merry Christmas Eve!

Layout-Run

23 Dec

Today I am sharing a layout I made!

Supplies: Green Card Stock: Bazzill; Patterned Paper: Stamping Station; Embellishments: Elle’s Studio (journaling card, puffy stickers, die cuts)

That’s it for today-have a great one!

Christmas Card Day 10!

22 Dec

Today is day ten of my Christmas card series and I am sharing another gift I made for our neighbors.

We have wonderful neighbors, and we exchange gifts every year.

This year I decided to include card kits for the girls in our gift baskets. Each household has two girls (one has two grandkids that visit often.)

So, I made six card kits altogether.

I started by stamping and die-cutting a bunch of images.

I also die-cut some scenery pieces like snow and the sky and used a punch to create some trees. I tried to use shapes that weren’t too intricate so that the girls could easily use glue to adhere them.

I added in two card bases and two envelopes to each kit so that the girls can each make two cards.

I packaged everything up in a plastic envelope and added a little note.

Supplies: Penguin Stamps and Dies: MFT; Dies: Lawn Fawn (stitched rectangles, stitched hillsides), Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Other: Punch

I used the following from CutCardStock.com: Basis BlueCougar White 100 lb., and Leader Opaque A7 White Envelopes.

I hope the girls have fun putting these together!

That’s it for today.

Have a great one!
