Christmas Gift Baskets

24 Dec

Today I thought it would be fun to share what I put in the Christmas gift baskets I made for the neighbors this year.

I had lots of help from The Little Guy assembling the gifts, which was awesome.

I was going for a cozy theme this year.

We made three gift baskets, and here is what was included:

Blanket

Oatmeal Cookie Mix in a Jar

I found a great recipe for making oatmeal cookie mix in a jar, and so we included that too. We substituted chocolate chips for the white chocolate and cranberries.

This recipe comes with a downloadable recipe card, but because I changed the recipe, I just made my own recipe cards to attach.

Candy Boxes

I found these pyramid boxes on Amazon Haul. After discounts, they ended up being around .70 for a pack of 24. The package included the ribbons and Merry Christmas tags too. What a deal, and they are SO cute!

We filled them with paper shreds, Hershey’s kisses, and peppermints. We included two pyramids in each gift basket.

Card Kits

I previously posted about the card kits I made for the neighbors’ kids/grandkids. Here is the link if you would like to read more about how I made those.

Ornaments

I also included a handmade Christmas ornament. If you would like to learn more about how I made these, click on this link.

Paper Shreds

The Little Guy assembled the baskets. We used some really cute plastic baskets from The Dollar Tree.

He filled the bottom of each basket with tissue paper, then added the items, and filled in with paper shreds.

I didn’t actually have any paper shreds on hand, but found this great video on YouTube, and made my own.

And finally, I included a Christmas card for each family.

I did also make four baskets for The Hubby to take to work. They included the cookie mix, the candy boxes, organic popcorn seeds with paper lunch sacks (so that you can make popcorn in the microwave-see pin here for directions), and a Christmas card.

I was really happy with how these turned out, and hopefully everyone enjoyed them!

That’s it for today.

Merry Christmas Eve!
