Today I am sharing a project I made for the CutCardStock.com IG Influencer Team.
You can follow me on Instagram here.
I don’t know about you, but I am always curious about how people store their crafty stuff.
So, today I thought I would share how I decided to organize my CutCardStock.com card stock.
I have amassed quite the collection over the last several months and wanted to find a way to store it all.
I knew there were a few things I wanted in my new storage system:
1. Easy to maintain
2. Easy to find things (including scraps)
3. CHEAP
As a homeschool mom, I have lots of office supplies already in the house, so that really helped.
I did an inventory and found plastic sheet protectors, some colored plastic dividers, a label maker, and a metal key ring.
I then purchased three plastic bins from The Dollar Tree.
I started by opening up the package of colored dividers and putting them in the bins.
This is how I determined the order to put my colors into (the blues went behind the blue divider, the neutrals behind the black, etc.)
You don’t even really need these, as you can organize however you like, but I had them, so I used them.
I used a die from Hello Bluebird to cut a tag from each color.
Then, I used my label maker to create two labels for each color. I applied one label to a page protector (to be used for my scraps), and one to the tag.
I added the tag to a metal key ring and placed the page protector and the card stock into one of my bins.
The card stock in the bins and the cardstock tags are in the exact same order, making colors easy to find.
I keep the key ring on my desk. It is extremely handy for matching card stock to patterned paper and inks while I am working on a project, and I can also take the project and the key ring to my computer-making it easy to enter in all of the supplies I use when I create blog posts (my craft room is in the basement, and my computer is upstairs.)
The bins are on the floor right along the edge of my u-shaped desk. I can just roll my chair over, grab what I need, and get right back to crafting.
My favorite part is that all of the scraps are with each color, so they are easy to find, and easy to use up.
This system took me a while to set up, but it is working really well.
And, I didn’t have to spend a lot of money to achieve it (less than five bucks!)
I hope you found this post interesting, and maybe you got some ideas on how to store your card stock too.
That’s it for now.
Have a great day!
