Now that it’s officially summer, I thought I would share one of my new favorite drinks!
Have you ever had sun tea? I love it. But, a big glass jug takes up way too much room in my fridge, and sometimes it leaks. Yuck.
I recently saw an article for cold-brewed ice tea:

The recipe calls for mason jars with two tea bags each. Genius! Why didn’t I think of that? Now I can have single servings of tea, and make several different flavors at a time.
This recipe says to stick them in the fridge for the cold-brew, but I decided to use this method for sun tea. I have just been taking my jars, setting them in the sun during the day, and then sticking them in the fridge overnight to be enjoyed over the next few days.
I pull the tea bags out before putting them in the fridge, then just tape the tag part of the bag to the top of the jar so I can tell the flavors apart. All you have to do is unscrew the lid, and drink!
I have been having fun trying different flavors, and so far have made several batches of Raspberry Lipton tea, Vanilla Lipton tea, and Cuppa Cake Caramel Vanilla by The Republic of Tea (this one is my favorite.)
I typically don’t use sweetener, but did try some organic honey in the raspberry once, and that was pretty good.
It’s a nice refreshing drink-perfect for summertime!
