June Books

2 Jul

This year, I am on a mission to read more books!
My goal is 150, and I am pretty happy with how many I have read so far.
Here are the books I read in June:
1. The Autism & ADHD Diet: A Step-By-Step Guide to Hope and Healing by Living Gluten Free and Casein Free and Other Interventions by Barrie Silberberg-this was a very insightful book, and very helpful. I recommend it.
2. Fatal Frost by Nancy Mehl-this one was pretty good. Not my favorite, but good enough that I kept reading the series. 🙂
3. The Partner’s Guide to Asperger Syndrome by Susan Moreno-this had some good things to say, but we have read better on the subject (read this one aloud with the hubby.)
4. The Multiplying Mysteries of Mount Ten by Krista Van Dolzer-this was a kids’ book. It was OK. I liked the premise, but the book could have been better. It left a lot of unanswered questions for me.
5. The Inn at Hidden Run by Olivia Newport-this was OK. It was definitely a quick read, but I don’t know that I will read the next one when it comes out.
6. Dark Deception by Nancy Mehl-this book was the second book in this series (the first was Fatal Frost listed above), and it was OK.
7. Blind Betrayal by Nancy Mehl-this was the third book in the series, and I liked it the best out of the three.
8. Five Days in Skye by Carla Laureano-Carla is one of my favorite authors, and this book did not disappoint. I didn’t even know she had another series besides the cooking one I like so much. So, now I am looking forward to reading the second in this series as well. It was very good.
9. The Brave Learner by Julie Bogart-this was really good. It is definitely another one for me to add to the rotation to read every couple of years. Great homeschooling book, and a lot of great insights. I will be buying this one.
10. My Father’s Dragon by Ruth Stiles Gannett-the hubby and I were looking for something short and light to read together, so this fit the bill. I have read this before with the kids, and it is a fun read.
11. Evil Spy School by Stuart Gibbs-I am still reading this series aloud to the kids, and we finished book three this month. Such a fun series, and I am really enjoying reading it again with the kids.
That’s all the books for this month, and now I have read 79 books for the year so far!
Stay tuned for a new book post in August (how can it be almost August????)
