Book Review-The Two Of Us

15 Aug

Summary: The Two of Us by Victoria Bylin is a modern story that takes place in Colorado.   Mia Robinson is a single gal with two broken engagements-making her very leery of the opposite sex.  But, when her eighteen year old sister informs her that not only is she pregnant, but about to get married in Las Vegas, she is forced to recognize a family wedding is in the works-whether Mia likes it or not.
Jake Tanner has more than just physical scars after a bomb kills his partner and leaves him partially deaf.  He feels dead inside, and blames himself for his partner’s death.  He retreats to the family farm, but when he finds his partner’s son is getting married, he can only wish that a relationship is something that might be in the cards for him.
Can a wedding bring two hurting people together, or will the past forever get in the way?
My Thoughts: I enjoyed this book.  It is well-written, doesn’t ignore that life has problems, but has a cute romance in the end.  I especially liked that the book took place close to where I live, so it felt more real.  🙂  I recommend it especially if like romance, and are looking for a quick, fun, and easy read.
I did receive a complimentary copy of this book from Bethany House for my unbiased review-thank you!
