Summary: Swept Away by Mary Connealy is set in 1860s Texas, and follows the story of Luke Connealy-a man bent on revenge against the man who killed his father and stole his family’s ranch.  As Luke travels home, he happens upon an unconscious girl who has been swept away from her wagon train while crossing a dangerous river.  He can’t just leave her by the side of the river, and there aren’t any towns for miles, so he is forced to bring her along on his quest.  When Ruthy awakens, she is actually relieved to have left her former life behind, and quickly becomes involved in Luke’s quest.  Will Luke be able to reclaim his ranch without putting Ruthy in serious danger?

My Thoughts: I really enjoyed this book.  It was a quick read, was well-written, and had enough twists and turns to keep the story line from becoming predictable.  The characters were well thought out, and I particularly enjoyed the loyalty shown between Luke and his long-time friends.  This was a good adventure book, with some romance thrown in, and I would definitely recommend it.
