Happy NSD Weekend!

3 May

Was so excited to get a jumpstart on making cards tonight for National Scrapbooking Day!  I have a stack of cards that need to be made, and my goal for this weekend is to try to get all my cards done (birthdays, anniversaries, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, etc.) for the rest of the year.  We will see how it goes!

First up, I needed a birthday card, and I wanted to play along with the Paper Smooches challenge:

This week, it’s anything goes, so I dug out a set I hadn’t used before-Get Outta Town-and paired it with a sentiment from Sentiment Sampler.  I used mists and a paint brush to color in the images and the background.  I used a ruler and a black pen on the corners to create a faux frame.
Supplies: Stamps: Paper Smooches; Mists: Studio Calico (Pretty Pink, Sherbet); Misc.: Pink Cardstock

I loved how this card turned out, and was having so much fun painting, I decided to do the same thing on a tag and create a much-needed bookmark for myself!

This one turned out brighter even though I used the same color mists-I think mainly because it was a shiny surface, and I added some water to the mists before I painted.  The twine is MME, letter stickers are Studio Calico.

I am also submitting these projects to the Studio Calico mixed media challenge.

Getting a great start on my list of projects, and having fun in the process!  🙂
