Book Review-At Every Turn

20 Nov

So, my mom recently started reviewing books, and as she doesn’t have a blog yet, she is posting hers here.  🙂

“At Every Turn” by Anne Mateer

… is a unique and fun story of a women doing the impossible things she loves against all odds. I love the great balance between a seemingly “manly” love of racing balanced with the idea of also being very feminine and how those two ideas were successfully blended together. The creativity and adaptability the main character used to try and fulfill her promise and keep her word was fun to experience. While I thoroughly enjoyed the fresh story line of this book, I was a bit disappointed by the Christian themes. That a person who loved God and so desired to be used by Him would even begin to think of using deception as a means to fulfill His Will is a disturbing and unbelievable concept to me. I must say, however, the repentance and redemption themes were developed well – but did not make up for the repeated occasions of deception.

This book was given to me complimentary from Bethany House to review.
