Last FLOA Guest Designer Post

31 Jul

Well, my guest designing stint for For the Luv of Art has come to an end!

To finish off, I have three more cards to show you today using the Simple Stories 100 Days of Summer collection.  This collection really is the perfect balance of bright colors, and a great summer feel!  My favorite parts of the kit were definitely the journaling cards (which I used in the first two cards below), and the stickers (highlighted in the third card.)

Additional Supplies: Stamps: Paper Smooches; Twine: The Twinery; Clothespins: Canvas Corp.; Cloud Punch: Fiskars; Other: Washi Tape

This card is the perfect example of improvisation.  First, when I stamped the smiley face on the shorts, it left a black streak above the mouth.  I covered it up by drawing in a line over the mark to make a bigger smile-you really can’t hardly tell it isn’t supposed to be like that.  Second, when I couldn’t find the right paper for the background, I just layered washi tape-worked out great.

Additional Supplies: Butterflies and Mist: Studio Calico

This card was a breeze to put together, and I really like how it turned out.  I painted Pony mist onto the butterflies, and assembled the card-done and done!

Additional Supplies: Twine: The Twinery

This was another easy card.  I used an i for each l (I was out of the letter l), added the stickers and twine, and outlined my sentiment so that it stood out better.

So there you have it!  Can you believe I made 22 projects over two months with these kits?  How fun!  🙂

Remember you can still pick up a 100 Days of Summer kit here (there is still one left), or a May kit here if you haven’t already!

I really enjoyed being a For the Luv of Art Guest Designer, and a big thank you to Sherrie for having me!
