Practical Scrappers Challenge Me Tuesday-Ink

28 Feb

Today’s challenge at Practical Scrappers is to use ink!

I just got some new Tim Holtz background stamps (LOVE!), so I decided to ink them up and make some cards!

I used very few supplies:
white card bases
Distress Ink-Worn Lipstick, Fired Brick, Broken China, Faded Jeans, Wild Honey, Vintage Photo
stamps (Tim Holtz, Papertrey-sentiment)
gems (Basic Grey)

I chose two coordinating colors (one light, one dark) of ink for each card.  I took the lighter color and applied it to the card base.  I use a bristly brush as opposed to a felt applicator-I just find it works better for me.  Then, I stamped my background image using the darker color.  I trimmed the card down to just the size of the image, and then applied the darker color around the edges of the card.

I used the leftover pieces trimmed from the card base, and used the same inking technique to create the sentiment.

For the piece under the sentiment, I simply swiped the darker color ink onto another leftover piece of the card base, and then matted it underneath the sentiment.

On the brown card, I also added some gems, because the card just didn’t seem colorful enough.

These cards are very easy to mass produce, and depending on the colors of ink you have-there are endless possibilities there too.

Hope you enjoyed my “inked up” cards!

Have a great day!
