The Paper Variety Anniversary Blog Hop!

7 Sep

Welcome to The Paper Variety’s one year anniversary celebration! This week it’s all about our “favorite things!” TPV is hosting five daily challenges of our favorite things and awarding five amazing prizes to five lucky random winners.  We hope you’ll play along with us each day!!

We begin today with a fun blog hop and our first challenge which is being sponsored by My Favorite Things stamps. If you’ve reached me from Pam’s blog, you’re in the right place! If not, you’ll want to go back to The Paper Variety so you can begin in the right spot. Be sure to visit all twelve designers on this hop to be inspired by all their amazing creations using MFT stamps and to be entered into some fun blog candy giveaways!

Our first of 5 challenges is to create a paper project including stamps – clear stamps, rubber stamps, image stamps, sentiment stamps. My Favorite Things stamps is awarding a random challenge winner with a $25 gift voucher to their store!

You’ll have until Tuesday noon to enter your project here for a chance at the $25 MFT prize.

My Favorite Things also generously provided the entire TPV Design Team with stamps to use on our projects. Thank you SO much My Favorite Things!

Here is my project:

Congratulations Card

Supplies: MFT digital stamp; Patterned Paper: Studio Calico/Crate Paper; Frame: Studio Calico; Rubon: Pebbles; Inks: Distress Inks by Tim Holtz (Broken China, Dusty Concord, Peeled Paint); Mists by Studio Calico (Piglet, Lemonade, Pony); Stickles; Signo White Pen

I used the Happy Mother’s Day digital stamp.  I trimmed off the sentiment on the outside edge, then trimmed out the image as well.  I painted the image by “stamping” my ink pads and spraying my mists onto a flat plastic bag.  Then, using a paint brush and a container of water, I dipped the brush into water, then the color, and painted in my image.  I added Stickles to the flowers to give them a little added sparkle.  Then I mounted the image on dimensional adhesive in the middle, and attached the edges to the frame.

I love this image because even though it is a Mother’s Day stamp, it is extremely versatile and can be used for just about anything-welcome to your new home, congrats on a new job, etc.  This was my first attempt at using a digital stamp, and it was a lot of fun-I hope you will consider giving it a try!

Before you go on to the next hop stop, I have some blog candy to giveaway!  My candy includes: two stamps from Unity Stamp Company, American Crafts Remarks alphabet stickers, 5 Things Envelopes from Little Yellow Bicycle, Sei cardstock stickers, SRM stickers (not pictured), and Websters Pages stickers and fabric ribbons.

To be eligible for this giveaway, please subscribe to my blog (on the right-hand side of my blog under Email Subscription), and answer this question: what kind of adhesive do you use, and why?  I am always on the look out for new kinds of adhesive, and would love to hear your favorites!  I will draw a winner next Tuesday.

You don’t have to enter a project at TPV to win my blog candy. My giveaway is just for fun. I encourage you to enter a project though-then you will have a chance to win some yummy My Favorite Things for yourself!!!  🙂

Dont forget, there will be other challenges and prizes daily until Sunday at TPV inspiring you to use your favorite things! There’s also a giveaway on the TPV Facebook page so don’t miss that! Join in the fun! 🙂

Now hop on over to Sue’s blog to see her beautiful project created with MFT stamps!

Have a great day, and have fun hopping!!!  🙂
