Transportation Challenge at The Paper Variety!

24 Aug

Well, I totally had a project in mind for this challenge, but as our computer was on the fritz, I couldn’t use my Silhouette!  So, I improvised, and I am glad I did as I don’t know that I had ever thought to scrap these photos!  And, what’s that?  There is even a picture of me on this page!  🙂

The challenge this week was to create a travel or transportation themed project.

Here is mine:

Open Road Must

Supplies: Paper: October Afternoon, Sassafrass Lass; Letter Stickers: Studio Calico; Tape: American Crafts; Buttons and Brad: Crate Paper; Paint: Jenni Bowlin

I used a lot of strips of patterned paper on this layout, and not many embellishments.  That isn’t usually my style, but I really like the different patterns-I think they complement each other.  I also used paint under my journaling so that it was easier to see.  That striped paper really makes my title look crazy, but it does look a lot better in person-I promise!  I think doing LOAD is really helping me out too, because this only took me about 2 hours-think I am finally learning to make stuff in a shorter amount of time.  Although, I suppose hubby taking the kids out of the house might have helped my concentration level slightly as well.  🙂

ANYWAY, now on to the important part-you need to play along!!!!

There is another GREAT prize up for grabs this week from The Paper Trail.  Check out this picture of all the goodies:

Pretty awesome, right?  So, what are you waiting for?  Go create your project and upload it at thepapervariety.blogspot.com.  Can’t wait to see what you come up with!  🙂

p.s. I also used this layout for week 8 for LOAD.

Awesome layout! I love how the photos are still the main focus – even with all the patterned papers you used!
