LOAD Week Six

17 Aug

Here is my layout for week six:

The Best Pictures

LOAD Week 6: Layout 6

Supplies: Paper: Amy Tangerine, Basic Grey; Stickers, Brads and Canvas: Basic Grey; Letters: Pink Paislee; Mist: Studio Calico; Sketch: October Afternoon.  Most items (not Amy Tangerine paper) was from Studio Calico’s Boardwalk and Tide Pool kits.  The Basic Grey stickers were a shop item that sold out before I could get them, but was able to pick them up at Archivers.  So glad I did as they go perfectly with the kits!  I wasn’t sure I liked that Pink Paislee alpha from Tide Pool, but now that I am playing with it-LOVE it!!!  And, Bonnie Blue mist looks so great with the rest of the embellishments.

The assignment was to write the story first.  I have to admit, I created another layout before I realized I hadn’t actually done what I was supposed to do!  I am not used to writing first-I am almost always looking for products to play with.  I am glad I did though, as I am not sure I would have scrapped these pictures.  Once I started writing, I realized there was a story there that I really wanted to share-regardless if the pictures were not as perfect as I would have liked.

I am also participating in A Layout a Week over at Studio Calico, and this week’s challenge was to use an October Afternoon sketch.  It was a great sketch, so I incorporated that into the design as well.

Awesome layout and great story! Sometimes it IS better to write the story out first, then search for pix! I usually do it the other way around, although, I have a few stories that are written down looking for the perfect pic – now if I can only find them after the move, LOL
