Cardapalooza Day Nine and Ten

11 Aug

Here are my cards for days 9 and 10!

Day 9: Use Rubons

Supplies: Paper, Stickers, and Rubons: Studio Calico; Misc: Clear/Acrylic Card

I made this using a clear card and then used pop dots with a bunch of journaling stickers.  I put the patterned paper on the inside of the card to cover up the mess of the pop dots, and added cute woodgrain bird rubons to two of the journaling stickers.  This was a great way to use up a lot of stickers, which is good, because I LOVE these ones from the Documentary collection by Studio Calico.  I have several sheets!  🙂

Day Ten: Use stamps

Supplies: Paper: Basic Grey; Stamps: Jenni Bowlin; Sticker: Studio Calico; Inks: Tim Holtz; Other: Embossing Powder

Here I played with a technique I learned at an Archivers class.  I pressed the ink pads onto a plastic bag (I like Archivers bags because they lay flat really well), then used a paintbrush and some water to spread the color onto the paper after I embossed the stamps.  They used a craft sheet and a water brush, but this worked just as good, and I just throw away the bag when I am done.  Simple.

Turned out great-love that you can blend the colors together so well!  Next time though, I will let it dry before I try and cut it.  I had to add the sticker (which I liked anyway) to the bottom to cover up a little fraying.  🙂
