Summer Card Camp Week 3-Additional Colors

16 Jul

Now I am back to posting about week 3! 🙂

I was really inspired by the first set of additional colors this week:

Here is my card:

Supplies: Patterned Paper: Lily Bee; Sticker: Crate Paper; Stamp: Technique Tuesday; Silhouette: Amy Tangerine

I really like this card!  I am not much of a fan of silhouettes, but this one by Amy Tangerine in the Silhouette store was calling to me!  I also got to use two new skills I picked up in Summer Card Camp-how to make that little banner, and how to line your unmounted stamp up straight (just throw it on a piece of paper, and then press a block on top of it-presto!)  Fun stuff!  🙂

Summer Card Camp Week 2

16 Jul

OK, so I know I am posting a little out of order, but it took me a bit to figure out what to do with week two’s color combination, and I really wanted to get week three’s in on time this week!  So, here is the color combo for week 2:

Here is my card:

Supplies: Cardstock: Core’dinations; Rubon: Hambly; Silhouette shape: Echo Park; White Pen: Signo

After working on week 2 of LOAD, I realized that I was trying to make cards for this class that fit the color scheme, instead of cards I like to make, and that is why I was struggling so much-I am not used to basing everything off of a color combination.  Funny how info. from one class can inspire another.  So, with this week’s card, I went back to what I know and love-my Silhouette.  I picked a shape FIRST, then some card stock to match the color combo, and it went so much smoother.  Now I know-I need to have a design laid out before I figure out the colors.  That’s just the way I create.  Sweet-never knew that about myself!  Anyway, this card, and another I just finished went so much smoother with this process in mind.  Hope you like the card as much as I do!
