Paper Variety Challenge-April Showers

12 Apr

The Paper Variety challenge was to be inspired by this photo:

Here is my take:

Supplies: Patterned Paper: American Crafts; Chipboard and button: Crate Paper; Lace: A Million Memories; Rubon: Pebbles; Martha Stewart scoring board (used to score the black strip every 1/2 inch, and then I flattened it back down-just wanted a little extra dimension-not just have a flat strip.)

I was originally going to make an encouragement card-you know, sunshine on a rainy day kind of thing.  But, I couldn’t get it to work the way I wanted, and then I saw this cute umbrella and heart, and it turned into a baby shower card instead!  Funny how that works some times.  🙂

I was inspired by a lot of different things in this photo:  the colors, the raindrops (I knew right away I wanted to use that American Crafts paper!), and the overall sketch.  This was a fun challenge for me!
